Information for Parents and those who are involved with children

Here is some information you can share: Did you know your organization (church. PTA, etc.)  can order Free VHS tapes from news you can use from the US Government site?

1. Check site for the  list of  shows http://registerevent.ed.gov/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewer.pastshows&showname=

2. Send e-mail to Education.tv@ed.gov

3. Ask to be added to the monthly mailing list for English and/or Spanish copies

4. Provide your organization, phone number and format preferences.

5. Provide the title of the show you would like to order.

These shows can be viewed via Web cast or on some Public Broadcast Stations.

I found the May 16, 2006 - New Tools for Parents very interesting.

 

Join Detroit Parent Network (DPN). An organization ran by parents for parents. Yearly membership is only $5 and 5 volunteer hours. That’s it. The benefits are numerous; training, helpful information, fellowship with other parents, etc.  Contact Mr. Derek Blackmon, Outreach Director/Membership, at 313 309-1454. Parents in Macomb, Oakland and Wayne countries area can now dial 211 for human resource answers?  Those outside of this area can still dial United Way’s Tel-Help at 800-552-1183.  Some cell phones may not be able to connect with this number. They should dial the 800 number.
